First Impressions

I painted this tiny acrylic still life on a whim in 2011. It was my first attempt at Impressionistic flair, and its cheery hues and fruity floral goodness still make me smile. Also I'm a fan of mini canvases!

Japanese Bowl

This cheery Japanese bowl is a local thrift store find. I adore the grass green glaze with the calico border!

Classical Swag

This is likely a McCoy or Bauer vase from the 1930s. I love the elegant Classical shape with swag details.

Local Thrift Load

I hit thrift store pay dirt the other day! Every Thursday the local thrift store has a fill-a-bag-for-5-dollars sale, and it just so happens that I stuffed 16 delightfully curated garments into a bag and joyfully skipped all the way home! A bright pink circle skirt dress for $0.30? Not too shabby. So now I am in textile heaven drooling over the surface pattern design and texture details of these pieces, altering some, and wearing some as they are!

Martha Garden

This garden plan on the endpaper of Martha Stewart's Gardening Month by Month caught my eye while I was leafing through some gardening books. I adore this style of garden illustration--the angle of the perspective, the monochromatic details, and the script labels. It makes me want to wander through all these inviting greenery rooms--down the antique brick path, across the croquet lawn, and into the rose garden to forage a bouquet!
